5th Grade- Wayne Thiebaud Cakes with oil pastel
6th Grade- Illuminated Letters 7th Grade- Exam Monday- Clay the rest of the week!!! 8th grade- Exam Monday- 50 Object drawings the rest of the week!! Additionally there will be a chance for extra credit!! 2 points per cereal box donated to the art room, for a chance of up to 20 points extra credit!!
Sharon Core This week the 5th grade is kicking of an exploration of one of my favorite artist of all time, Wayne Thiebaud....however, there is another artist who has taken the work of Wayne Thiebaud to the next level. Artist Sharon Core has recreated 17 of Tiebaud's images in photograph by painstakingly baking & icing the cakes herself, styling them to match Thiebuad's image and then photographing them! The look just like the original- I am completely impressed!!
The end of the quarter is just around the corner! 7/8 students are working on their final projects right now, in the event that you have lost your all important rubric....here it is:
5th grade- This week we are wrapping up Frank Stella protractor themed lessons and heading into the wonderful world of Wayne Thiebaud (one of my most favorite artists!) 6th grade- Is wrapping up Egypt by creating paper mach headdresses, this project is a little messy! 7th grade & 8th grade- Are working on their final projects so we can be sure to finish before the semester end and the threat of nasty weather! This week they will also take their FINAL EXAM!! Study Guides go home Monday! 7th grade & 8th grade progress book is up to date with all of the assignments that have been turned in as of 12/1 at 1:30PM! TONS OF PEOPLE HAVE WORK MISSING: Find it, Finish it, Turn it in!! |
