5th grade: Students will continue to work on their totem pole animals!
6th grade: Students will continue their study of Medieval art by creating Rose Window inspired art as well as working on a coat of arms. Some students still need to complete their pen and ink castles! 7th grade is wrapping up their study of Alexander Calder and will be moving onto the art of Keith Haring & Graffiti 8th grade is finishing up their color theory unit and will be capping off their Abstract Unit with a paper cutting (collage) project inspired by the art of Henri Matisse.

Canton Museum of art currently has an exhibit on famous art forgeries, art +crime= sounds like a good time. (not the crime part…crime is not fun….maybe interesting is a better word?) This Week in the art room: 5th grade is finishing their Cleveland Rocks- guitar project and kicking off a Native American Unit with a project inspired by the Totem Poles of the Pacific Northwest. Sixth Grader are continuing their time travel with a stop in Medieval times to create Illuminated Letters and Castles using pen and ink …. First Period Seventh grade just selected the artwork they wish to display from their completed Georgia O'Keeffe Unit, the case has a variety of 2D & 3D . The Seventh grade has now moved on to artist Alexander Calder and are working to create their own Stabiles based on his artwork.
